I created a fictional health-tech startup, harmonywaves, to understand the future of music therapy and mental health. Essentially, harmonywaves would use users’ biometric data to generate and curate personal playlists based on moods, feelings, and emotions in hopes of regulating certain mental health conditions. By tracking a user’s biometric data and emotions, this would create a personalized approach for those who feel therapy, and music therapy, to be too generalized.

Before creating the product, I researched potential user’s opinions on their preferences for personalized music, music as a tool for therapy, and how mental health is affected by music. After understanding their experiences, I ideated and designed headphones and created different advertising mockups to be placed around different cities to promote the company and the product. Lastly, I created a pamphlet of my findings and designs to be easily read and accessible.
